Umm. Isn’t it crazy enough that all of these major banks are getting bailed out by the government, especially given the concern by repubs who fear nationalizing ANYTHING? I mean do we REALLY need to add a clause to the bail-out bill that says “Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.” I mean, really, WHAT. THE. FUCK. (And I was trying really hard not to have to put that in writing. I’m afraid that A) my non-effing spell has been long put to rest and B) even if it hadn’t, this situation would warrant it.
It doesn’t help that while the feds are willing to bail out all these bankers, they’re not willing to add 50 billion dollars to actually help the people who got royally screwed over by this (unless you’re the CEO or upper-management of one of these firms, since conservatives also won’t take the reccommendations of the dems and put a cap on the pay-out for execs of these companies. Good God.). So, you know. 400 and some-odd BILLION dollars to the companies. billions of dollars wasted in Iraq, (including over 140 million dollars wasted on reconstruction projects that were either cancelled or terminated), Fraud and waste in Katrina, and God knows how much (in theory, over 1 TRILLION) in defense contract. Yeah. Sounds like fiscal conservativism to me.
I’m Finland bound.
This however, may detract from the murderous/suicidal trajectory I may have just sent you on… (I can’t embed non you-tube/google video clips in wordpress…I guess I possibly could, but, this morning I’m struggling.)
